Nine inspiring women
You can surely relate: there are types of women who often make you sigh because you would want to be a bit like them. Their substance is not in their appearance; they have that “certain something something” that adds a spark to our lives.
I would like to present these girls in the following article—they are my inspiration in my path to success and happiness. I will not deny I am mostly inspired by “workaholics” and women with clear views.
Ľudka is the kind of person whom you do not need to know for long but as soon as you meet her, you would stand back of her. We met in Kežmarok TEDx where she spoke about charity. She is the lady at the lead of Dobrý Anjel (Good Angel) which helps the sick and their families in difficult times. As she herself says, charity should be sexy and should foster empathy and desire to help. In such a profession that must be emotionally demanding, she radiates with strength and positive energy. She is an active part of a community, does not hesitate in taking the side of the disadvantaged. She writes great blogs and she knows the President!

Tidbit: “Ľudka” has a view of the Tatras in her work and she proves that you can have a nationwide career.
Natália will remain the face of Puojd forever. All the Puojd Team has fallen in love with her during our photo shooting in the Tatras. Only people from the industry know the modelling profession; hard work and also creativity hide behind flashy poses. Natália got her dose of it from her sculptor father. The cliche that models are just pretty faces is the thing of the past. Natália graduated the Faculty of Chemical and Food Technology STU Bratislava, has a dog she adopted and can combine work, travel, and personal life to one happy whole.
Girly playfulness, Easterner zest in combination with a great deal of professionally—that is a model worth looking for.

Tidbit: Natália got a wedding proposal from a shepherd Fero during the Cow Collection shooting. She turned him down but promised to send photos by email.
A fashion designer whose colours have stunned many cheerful spirits. Our paths with Lenka crossed on the North Pole. We were cruising the snowy streets of a small town of Rovaniemi on bikes, and our target was studying and open possibilities of fabrics and fashion. Lenka showed me how not to fear trying new things and overwork. Today we are not just friends, but we also connect through our profession. We learn from each other and results of our work bring joy and awards. It’s rather uncommon to find a person who wants to work in a team in fashion. Lenka is such a person, and I hope I’ll always have the possibility to be a part of her fairytale world.

Tidbit: While we’re on the subject of workaholism, I don’t know anyone else who would put in more.
Young, hardworking and versatile. Mischel is impossible to overlook, and the always wears a different colour which sticks out of her hat. She’s got a reputation of a blogger, but in her work, she mainly focuses on makeup and hair styling. I consider her a leading figure in the new generation of bloggers. She’s got all it takes to be successful: hard work, fairness, pleasant demeanour, and she’s professional. When you start cooperating with her, you know you can expect a quality output. What’s also exceptional about her is that she isn’t afraid to be critical of colleagues’ work even if it doesn’t often meet with the approval of others.

Tidbit: Mischel puts her shoulder to the wheel in major fashion events such as Fashion and Fashion LIVE March!
A graphic designer Mikina Dimunová concentrates on art direction, branding, corporate identity creation in her work and she’s good at it. She’s the example of aiming high and living to the fullest. During the time after her studies, she didn’t fear to move to Paris where she created for Slovak and foreign clients. She’s now a mother of two daughters, but she’s still as busy as a bee. She delivers a visible and high-quality works, to mention just a few: redesign of EMMA magazine, or the identity of a progressive Slovak clothing company NEHERA.
Even during my studies, I admired the power of her personality and independence. Thanks to her efforts and ambitions, she’s become successful very quickly, but she’s never grown too proud.

Tidbit: She’s close with Marcel Holubec W., and that’s how our paths crossed again when Marcel’s Collection Delusion was in development.

Marika gave the term “a fashion blogger" a whole new meaning. Countless beautiful photos map not only street style of modern Slovakia but also our culture. You can read about many events, interesting people, or nice gadgets in her entries. Analogue photographs are what distinguishes her from others. Marika has just become a mother, and it naturally influenced her blog. Moreover, in spite of all the chores, she still radiates with tranquillity and excitement.

Tidbit: In 2012, Marika shot a series of photos with ordinary people dressed in Puojd.
Janica Lacová & Aneta Orosi
Everyone gets swept by the Duo Anča and Janča’s temperament. Their primary task is teaching Slovakia healthier eating. They work on several projects in the field of education and gastronomy and have regular lectures in their own Cooking School. Eating healthy is becoming a lifestyle and responsible clothing is its inseparable part. That’s why Anita and Janica understand the importance of supporting local produce also in fashion. They are ambassadors of the famous Jamie Oliver, and they appear in a cooking show Tasteful Slovakia.

Tidbit: Janica was the face of visual for Puojd’s first solo show—the Cow.
She put her name on the map with the brand Planéta 220, where she took charge of a funny topic—Slovak Sci-fi. The Bratislava UFO, Majka from Gurun, or Pa and Pi came back to life in her tees. Misha’s signature design shows in graphic purity, and she rose to fame with her “drawing with a tape”. Misha puts a tape everywhere, but that’s not where her skillfulness ends. She designs logos, identities, illustrations, and VJs.
As a Bratislava-born person, she couldn’t continue watching silently how her hometown is, and she started to point at its problems on a page Bratislava - The Beauty on the Danube.
Tidbit: Although we’re mice, we’ve got two cats, and they are our sisters.
There are many exceptional people around me, and that’s why this article is just a beginning of a whole series of profiles on current Slovak personalities.
