All our design gifts are not only pretty but they also mean something. We want to create high quality souvenir of Slovakia that doesn´t discriminate, doesn´t offend, doesn´t repel. We emphasised this idea with photoshooting of Anka. We want to introduce you a refugee- well educated young man Judali from Kongo, whose „home“ became Slovakia for a while. We urge the things that we believe can get better, we like to show you the other side of the coin. Slovakians, who are we? What is typical for us? Are we humble and modest, are we honest, are we jellous, are we quiet, are we ice-hockey, are we careless, ARE WE HOSPITABLE?

Slovak human league, refugees comes to Slovakia because they yarn for democracy, peace and safety. But also because Slovakia is the last country of Schengen area. The most frequent reasons of migration are fear, religious discrimination, poverty, desire for life with the rest of family, that imigrated long time ago.
Maybe we are not as open nation as we claim, it proves the fact how hard it is to convince employers that the refugee is profesionaly capable and equal to Slovakian employee. It is a lot about the refugee´s personality and ambitions. Some of them are very skillfull and smart and they start their own bussiness or they start to study. In any case, refugee must live for one year in Slovakia to get working permission. „It is very important to remember that Slovakians were leaving their country until 1989 as well. They were leaving mostly to Austria and they had a real chance to establish new life there. This is what we have forgotten very easily. We should remember this and behave to refugees more tolerant.“ Said Peter Devínsky
